A cooler but sunny day today. So much better than the dreary, rainy day we had yesterday. This week seems to have followed a pattern of sunny, dreary, sunny, dreary. I enjoy a dreary day now and then just to hunker down with a book and something baking in the oven, but we've had entirely too many of them this week! Here are this weeks favorite things...
Finding the unexpected during a walk in the woods... this birdhouse sits all by itself out in a field way off one of our favorite walking trails. There are no houses or buildings around, just this sweet little house.
Finished projects... these are some of the washcloths that I crocheted for the Senior Citizens upcoming craft sale. I added small guest soaps wrapped in tulle and tied them together with a ribbon.
Aunt Dottie's Hamburg Soup with a side of cornbread. This soup is a staple in our house during the colder months and soup season is now upon us. It's easy to make and so delicious. I'll post the recipe soon, I'm sure you will love it too.
A favorite cookbook... it is tattered and torn and stained and very well used. My mom gave it to me when I got married so it is very old! But it still gets used, in fact, hubby used it just this past week to make an apple cake and an apple crisp.
