Musician Ed Sheeran has QUIT Twitter after being targeted by cruel trolls

Ed Sheeran has quit Twitter after being bombarded with cruel comments.

The A-Team hitmaker has decided to stop using his account after realising the mean tweets were 'ruining' his day.

Although his feed  - which boasts 19.1million followers - remains open, he has stopped posting on it and only shares pictures which he uploads to his Instagram.

Speaking to The Sun, he explains: 'I’ve actually come off Twitter completely. I can’t read it.

'I go on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things. Twitter’s a platform for that. One comment ruins your day. But that’s why I’ve come off it.

'The head-f**k for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much.'

The singer adds that he relies on his family and friends to keep his feet on the ground, rather than online trolls.
His last actual post came as he slammed critics of his Glastonbury performance after some fans claimed he was using a backing track instead of a live band.

Many followers praised the Castle On The Hill star for 'absolutely smashing' his headline set, while others complained Ed hadn't been worthy of the slot.

Now, Ed himself has responded to his critics - that had seen him accused of 'miming' playing a guitar up on stage.
He insisted that his hour-and-a-half long performance had all been live in a defiant tweet against those who had claimed otherwise.
Ed penned on Twitter: 'Never thought I'd have to explain it, but everything I do in my live show is live, it's a loop station, not a backing track. Please google x.'
Not letting the backlash ruin his 'dream' moment up on the Pyramid Stage, Ed added in a second tweet: 'Anyway, great night, great atmosphere, family, friends, fun. Love you all.'
